Our Way
At Yarn and Yield, we believe that how we see the world shapes what we create within it.
Many organisations begin with what they do. We begin with why we do it and the beliefs that guide us. We recognise that lasting change does not come from actions alone. It emerges from the relationship between our understanding of the world, what we value, how we choose to act, and the practices we undertake together.
Our Way brings these elements together into four interconnected layers: Worldview, Values, Principles, and Practices.
Each layer builds upon the one before it.
Our worldview shapes how we understand ourselves, our communities, and our relationship with the living world. From this understanding emerge our values—the qualities and conditions we believe are important for a flourishing future. Our values inform our principles, which guide our decisions, behaviours, and relationships. Our principles then come to life through our practices: the actions, projects, enterprises, and experiences we create together.
These layers are not separate or hierarchical. They are interconnected and continually influence one another, much like the living systems we seek to learn from and emulate. Together they provide a shared foundation for how we relate, learn, contribute, steward resources, and create positive change.
They help us align our intentions with our actions, ensuring that what we do reflects what we believe and value.

How we understand the world
At Yarn and Yield, we believe that everything is connected.
People, communities, economies, and ecosystems do not exist separately from one another. We are part of a living system of relationships that shape and sustain life.
